The first and only opportunity of the 2024 season for our Stage 4 refresher / finish your stage 4 and do some of the start racing courses. Build on the expertise you’ve already achieved over the summer season and get ready to participate  in club and or regional racing events. Open to DSC members and or any young people aged 8 – 17 years of age.

This is the part of the RYA Youth National sailing scheme – Having learnt to sail you may wish to start racing and join a club. This course takes you through the fundamentals of getting off the start line and round the course, introducing the basic skills needed to enter your first race or have fun with friends

Please come prepared to go afloat, bring sun cream warm hats and also a towel, and a change of clothes for the way home in the car, a fleece would also be useful as although our classroom is  heated  it can be cool when coming off the water and we often use the outside space.

Changing and shower facilities will be available, but please arrive ready to go afloat in the mornings. Wetsuits will be available, but must be taken home and rinsed / dried at the end of the day and returned at the end of the week for sanitation.

Participants must already have their RYA Youth Stage 1,2,3 & have or have most of your stage 4 completed to join this course!

Please be aware that cancellations and amendments to bookings will be subject to a £20 administration fee, cancellations will not be refunded until the place has been rebooked by another participant – unless in exceptional circumstances. Apologies for enforcing this rule, but to facilitate the course, DSC has to employ staff and purchase documentation in advance, and overheads are obviously involved.
