The last summer RYA Youth course of the season & first opportunity to undertake our RYA Intermediate and starting some of the advanced curriculum programme.  Racing training courses. Build on the expertise you’ve already achieved over the summer season after the start racing course, and get ready to participate  in club and or regional racing events. Open to DSC members and or any young people aged 8 – 17 years of age.

This is the part of the RYA Youth National sailing scheme – Having learnt to sail you may wish to start racing and join a club. This course takes you through the fundamentals of getting off the start line and round the course, introducing the basic skills needed to enter your first race or have fun with friends

Please come prepared to go afloat, bring sun cream warm hats and also a towel, and a change of clothes for the way home in the car, a fleece would also be useful as although our classroom is  heated  it can be cool when coming off the water and we often use the outside space.

Changing and shower facilities will be available, but please arrive ready to go afloat in the mornings. Wetsuits will be available, but must be taken home and rinsed / dried at the end of the day and returned at the end of the week for sanitation.

This is a 4 day course.

Participants must already have their RYA Youth Stage 1,2,3, 4 and have the start racing course almost completed / equivalent experience to join this course!
