A three-day Easter Refresher Coaching course open to all sailors, experienced or otherwise, who have completed RYA Stage 4 (juniors) ^(1,3,4) or are competent, independent sailors (adults) ^(2,4)

Sailors will be split into fleets based on experience, allowing tailored coaching from confidence-building refreshers to advanced race performance.”

3 days –  Monday March 30^th to Wednesday April 1^st.
This 3-day programme is open to both ADULT and JUNIOR sailors.
Course will run for three days from 09.00 – 16.00

This Easter Refresher is your opportunity to get some general sailing practice, build your confidence, hone your race skill and gain lots of practice in readiness for the new sailing season.

We hope that this Easter Refresher Course will encourage all sailors to get more involved in club racing on a regular basis.

FLEETS:
Based on their individual skill level, all sailors will be divided into two fleets Gold⁽¹⁾ & Silver.
This will enable the coaches to provide a more sailor specific instruction, tailored to better suit each participant; thus the induvial sailor will get maximum personal benefit.

• Silver Fleet:
  This Easter Refresher is your opportunity to get some practice and build your confidence ready for the new sailing season. Sailors will receive refreshers on de/rigging, launching/retrieval, race start sequence and various points of sail. Most of all, time on the water will be of most benefit and sailors will gain confidence on the water.
• Gold Fleet:
  The programme is suited to those who have considerable racing experience, are comfortable dealing with on the water incidents, and aim improve their race skills and increase their boat speed etc

• Participants should bring a packed lunch each day.
• Club sail training boats (training Picos & Toppers) will be made available for all participants free of charge

• At the discretion of the course organisers, once all bookings have been received, participants will be assigned their respective fleet based on their experience & past participation in DSC club racing etc.⁽⁴⁾
• Club RACE boats (Club Lasers, Toppers and GP14) are available for a small rental fee to gold fleet participants upon request⁽³⁾

• Please come prepared to go afloat each day to minimise time lost getting changed, bring sun cream, warm hats, a towel, and a change of warm clothes ashore.
• Separate male/female and Adult/Junior changing and shower facilities will be available.
• Wetsuits and buoyancy aids are available if needed but must rinsed and hung to dry at the end of the day.
• Bookings close on March 24^th.

1. Participants in the GOLD fleet should ideally have their own race boat. DSC club race boats can be rented for a fee if needed, or a club training boat may be used free of charge.
2. Adult participants should be competent sailors who have previously participated in club racing and demonstrated capacity to rig, launch, sail independently, right a capsize and retrieve a dinghy unassisted. For reasons of participants personal safety, DSC impartially reserves the right to refuse an applicant that does not meet these credentials.

4. Gold/Silver Fleet allocation: Once fleets have been allocated, participants / guardians are kindly requested to refrain from pushing themselves/their child into the gold fleet, as refusal may offend. Please make the most of the fleet allocation in the knowledge that the fleet system will allow the Coaches to provide instructions more suited to the individuals skill level. The sailor will get more out of this. The fleet allocation will be fluid; ie if in the opinion of the coaches a sailor demonstrates improvement over the three days, they may be moved between fleets.
