Women On Water (WoW) Adventure Day – 19 September 2026
SUP, SAIL, SIP and relax!!!
Join us for a light-hearted, fun day on the water, followed by sparkling afternoon tea in the Clubhouse.
No experience necessary, just a willingness to give it a go!
Running times:
– 1pm meet at the clubhouse for a meet & greet, get changed into wet gear
– 2pm launch (choose from dinghy sailing, SUP/paddleboarding, canoe – swap round mid way to try out each activity)
– 4pm on off water ( change into dry clothes)
– 5pm Sparkling afternoon tea in the clubhouse bar.
(HW at 5:50pm, so we will aim to run all activities close to shore/in the harbour)
What to Bring:
- Warm clothing for the upper body, close fitting sweat shirts
- Warm hat and gloves
- Wetsuit, if you have one
- Buoyancy Aid, if you have one
- Wet suit boots or trainers that you don’t mind getting wet
- Towel and change of clothes
- Medication you may require
- Sun screen
- Water bottle
- Your RYA logbook if you have done a previous course
- Don’t have a wetsuit or buoyancy aid… Don’t worry if you are a long tall Sally, or a curvy diva, we have lots to go round, in a variety of sizes to suit all.
- Willingness to have some fun!
Part of the RYA NI’s Active Clubs Initiative, Donaghadee Sailing Club are pleased to offer this fantastic opportunity for women to get out on the water with stand up paddle board, canoe and sailing taster sessions.
WOW focuses on the social aspect of water sport rather than being competitive so it will be a great way to meet new people as well as having fun and keeping fit! Afterwards join us in the clubhouse for a grownup afternoon tea and learn about what the Club has to offer.
