RYA Powerboat L2 – Specifically for Juniors (min age 14+)

A number of juniors have expressed an interest in gaining their RYA Power Boat Level 2 (PB2) qualification. So, after much discussion behind the scenes, a date and price have been set:

Sat & Sun 19-20th September @ £145 pp

Unfortunately we have only been able to source one instructor meaning there are just 3 spaces – a further date will be organised early next year for anyone that misses out this year.

This is a 2 consecutive day course, is fairly intensive, and requires no previous experience, or equipment.
The instructor will issue the handbook in advance of the course to give you a head start on the theory. Please get in touch with any queries.

You will need to bring a passport sized photo of yourself for the certificate when you attend the course.

An opportunity to learn the basic skills required to operate a  powerboat both safely and competently. A mostly hands on practical course at the helm of one of our RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boat) or Rigiflex boats with some land based instruction & theory, under the guidance and instruction of one of our accredited RYA power boat instructors. Successful students will be awarded their RYA Powerboat 2 certificate at the end of the course – this will be endorsed until you reach the age of 16, meaning you must have an adult in the boat with with you when afloat in a club rib or tango.

Please come prepared to go afloat, cater for all eventualities that Northern Ireland can offer in a single day so, bring sun cream, warm hats, warm waterproof clothing, a fleece, suitable footwear that you don’t mind getting wet,  and a change of clothing to go home in, just in case. We can provide buoyancy aids etc. but if you have your own gear please bring it.
