An opportunity to learn the basic skills required to operate a  powerboat both safely and competently. A mostly hands on practical course at the helm of one of our RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boat) or Rigiflex boats with some land based instruction & theory, under the guidance and instruction of one of our accredited RYA power boat instructors. Successful students will be awarded their L2 Powerboat certificate at the end of the course.  A minimum qualification to be permitted to helm any of the DSC powerboats.

Please come prepared to go afloat, cater for all eventualities that Northern Ireland can offer in a single day so, bring sun cream, warm hats, warm waterproof clothing, a fleece, suitable footwear that you don’t mind getting wet,  and a change of clothing to go home in, just in case. We can provide buoyancy aids etc. but if you have your own gear please bring it.

You will also need to bring a passport sized photo of yourself for the certificate when you attend the course.

This is a 2 consecutive day course, is fairly intensive, and requires no previous experience, or equipment. Please get in touch with any queries.
