DESCRIPTION:A 2hr in house Training course by a tutor to give you a basic u
 nderstanding of the procedures and a working knowledge to operate a VHF ra
 dio whilst at DSC either on Safety\, driving the Rib to go diving or Batte
 ry duty under our club licence.\n\nThe evening will provide you with a goo
 d foundation in preparation to proceed and start studying for the course b
 elow if you desire! It's open to juniors if your currently an ai /di\, and
  all adults.\n\nThis course doesn't include the full SRC course or  the 
 exam outlined below\, but will cover / touch on elements of it!\n\nThe RYA
  Marine Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification r
 equired to operate marine VHF radio equipment on a UK flagged vessel. Th
 is includes both fixed and handheld equipment with and without Digital Sel
 ective Calling (DSC). It is obtained by successfully completing an SRC exa
 m conducted at an RYA Recognised Training Centre.\n\n\nThere is no age lim
 it for taking the SRC course although exam candidates must be 16 years old
  on the day of the exam.\n\nCourse subjects include:\n\n 	routine operatio
 n of marine VHF radio including Digital Selective Calling\n 	the correct V
 HF channels (frequencies) to be used for each type of communication\n 	dis
 tress\, emergency and medical assistance procedures\n 	ship to shore commu
 nication\n 	practical use of Marine VHF DSC radios\n 	Global Maritime Dist
 ress and Safety System (GMDSS)\n 	Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beac
 ons (EPIRB)\n 	Search and Rescue Transponders (SART)\n\nHeres a taster vid
